book on cmp

hi,
anyone can give me some good reference book title about cmp??
thanks

Sure, Luc! You can't take another step without two of Bill Gregg's books, CANADA'S FIGHTING VEHICLES and BLUEPRINT FOR VICTORY. They're both available through the kitshop at http://www.artillery.net at the moment; I've been trying to make a deal with them to sell them through MLU, but so far their terms aren't very good... :(

hey thanks geoff,
i will try to find these books (the site you give me is under construction for now...oupppps).Btw i hope i'm not bugging you to much with my questions, but references on canadian army vehicles is so hard to find.
thanks again

You're not bugging ANYONE too much, Luc! This is what we're here for.

I'll see what I can about getting you copies of the books. Their kitshop has been down for a while... maybe I'll call them tomorrow and see if they're willing to make a better deal - after all who better to sell CMP stuff than MLU?! :D

That will be great!!!!
Let me know if you can have those books for me and if so maybe i can pay directly to you??
thanks again

New book just written

I have just drafted a new CMP book that we hope will be published at a reasonable price. It will be sold in North America of course! In the meantime, Monsieur, please do e mail me if there is anything I can help you with in the meantime.

Canadian Vehicle Manual Reference

Luc
I have an original manual by this title coming ,probably this week..
It is an inch thich and was produced 1946-7 and supposedly covers all the vehicles that Canada used during WW2..CMP's..armour...heavy softskins..the lot..
I have never seen this book and have asked on the old MLU forum of others that may know of this book and have had no response..I will "List the ingrediants" of aforementioned manual and list it on my web site when I get it..I hope it answers all ,or most of the questions frequently asked in our MLU conversations..

Drool....

.....sounds fascinating! Hope that it has something on the rarest of CMPs!

Oh Poop..!!!

David,et al...
Just recieved the awaited manual and there are no...nada..not one CMP vehicle in it...
Instead it covers all the 50-60 Canadian vehicles and appears to be part of a complete manual..
It covers all the M series vehicles and just full of those rotten old M 38 's....of all different stripe.....(Gordon Pringle...are you listening..??)
M series from M38 to the five tons..Also all the trailer models and some experimental FWD heavy haulers and the Diamond T heavys...
There seems to be another half but I don't have it..
I have enquired to the seller and am awaiting reply..
Stay tuned ..
These are all the data summary sheets..
Dimensions, specs, layout for different kits, line drawings, different views and kits..
Interesting to be sure ,but she ain't got CMP vehicles in it..

Well Alex, the seller did state it is a "manual on characteristics of different Canadian vehicles in use by the military after the war.". Still, a nice addition to your collection of manuals!

In Use.....

Hanno THese are the key words...
IN USE..
We Canadians used the CMP's in Canada up until the '60's....
I was hoping that there would be some data sheets on them ,but not one.....
Rats...
Still a valuable source of info...
Mike MacKinley is certainly interested on the Data sheet on the M38 electric welder...
