Scarey if you own Armour in the EU

This is taken from a thread on another web site, it only applies to Germany at the moment but apparently it will become an EU law.

Quote:

"It is a new regulation with the War Weapon Control Law (Kriegswaffen Kontrollgesetz).

If you have a motor vehicle, that is armored and fell under the war weapon law, you have to register it and ask for permission to own it. No matter it is deactivated cut armor, or not in driving condition.

You are not allowed to drive it or export it. Only on your own property.

Storage is only allowed when you have a fence or a closed building around it.

You are not allowed to let children under 18 access to the vehicle.

Every Armored vehicle, that is closed around the driver, and on the top of the driver fell under the war weapon law (tanks).

If the police can simply shoot on the driver with normal ammunition, it is not under the law. Battle Tanks and Armored Self Propelled Howitzers are now completely forbidden, and you have to fill concrete into the engine compartment if you want to keep No driving allowed at all."
All this comes from the official German website.

All this comes from the official German website.

It's one of two things. Either these lawmakers know there is a real threat of these being used for mass terrorist destruction they aren't telling us about, or they are complete idiots. The no kids under 18 part makes historic vehicles sound almost like porn that will corrupt children if they so much as set eyes on one.

If this becomes EU law, maybe BREXIT is happening just in time for the collectors/owners in the UK?

So 'Tanks in Mons', MV gatherings for D-Day celebrations that include anything with armour, etc will become a thing of the past?

Pardon me turning this political, but what's up with making legal gun owners and those who spend a zillion hours and tons of resources restoring 75 year old vehicles (that barely run reliably on a good day and you can't get ammo for even if you wanted to) the target of silly laws instead of going after the gangs and terrorists who actually hurt people??????

Happy Brexit. I fear for Canadians who's current government wants to take us down the draconian EU/UN path.

Good point about the dozer Robert. I think taking a modern piece of equipment and welding on some plate makes way more sense than spending a decade finding, researching and rebuilding a historic MV, that is if you are a terrorist. But no, fill the engine compartment of a WW2 tank with concrete and the world will be safe.

Because if there is one thing that Hollywood has taught us, it is that tanks are unstoppable, can smash through walls, jump bridges and will actually sideslip as you do high speed cornering. Have you not watched James Bond in Golden Eye?
Quote:

After being framed for the murder of Russian Defence Minister Dmitri Mishkin by General Ourumov, soldiers chase the fleeing James Bond into a munitions-filled courtyard. In an attempt to pursue Ourumov and the captive Natalya Simonova, 007 steals a Russian T-55 tank and chases after the General's car, destroying much of St. Petersburg in the process. After evading the Russian authorities, Bond finally tracks the pair to a train yard where Ourumov and Natalya board Alec Trevelyan's Soviet Missile Train. Unable to stop them, 007 intercepts the train further down the tracks at the mouth of a tunnel and uses the tank to derail the train; destroying the T-55 in the process.
Surely nobody needs this level of potential destruction. And it is only right that the owners must fully secure it to prevent James Bond wannabees from repeating these scenes.

Wifes are good. Wifes are smart. Wifes must be obeyed.

Wifes control your life but I'm told...and therefore believe...that is a good, good thing.
