Robert,

Dirk is currently in Ontario but may be hard to contact. I will be seeing him on Saturday when I return to the province. I will let him know you are looking for him.

Kind regards…..Robert Morrison (Vancouver)

Robert Morrison, you gave us nice words about the arriving of the parcel
to our e-mail address, but way not to this "fabulous" MLU forum ?

MLU Forum....Godsend!

Yes Dirk, your right! I should have paid homage to the forum, whose talent and contacts world wide, remains priceless. Where else could you find a forum/GPS system able to track the elusive Dirk Leegwater to the out reachs of rural Ontario.....right down to the legion(s) he's quaffing a few beers in with his CDN buds. Parts are here and installed. Many thanks....Robert :note:

Bob Carriere 25-10-11 02:54

As speculated....

Dear Dirk was in Acton.... fit as a fiddle and looking for bargains like all of us.

Thanks to MLU we know how to track him down.

Safe trip back home Dirk.

Bob

...I don't care what you say Bob I think Dirk is a nice guy.

And a happy Barn to you.

Dirk Leegwater....again!

So Dirk: How many MLU "T shirts" did you buy from Chris Vickery? Robert :confused

George McKenzie 26-10-11 04:47

Dirk Leegwater

Just a comment about buying over seas .If you ship by standard mail it will take a month and a half .IT comes by boat ,cant beleive it I though those days were over a 100 years ago .That's why we use Fedax

r.morrison 26-10-11 06:09

Dirk Leegwater again and again and again!!!

:doh:George: Dirk's shipment arrived within a week of the courier picking it up, plus or minus a day. What pissed me off, was the customs I had to pay on the parts $75.00. This is no reflection on Dirk and his shipping costs, but I always thought there was am exemption on vintage/antique vehicle parts coming into Canada. I'd be open to hear from other purchasers of "overseas" parts.

All parts fit perfectly and the 3 Tonner will be back on the road within a few days.

Now.....for another point, which of you guys knows how to post a picture on the MLU Forum. I need a volunteer with an email address cuz....I'm going to pull a MLU dirty On Dirk! Robert

I think there was a directive to customs at the US boarder to not bother with anything uder $500 and go after drugs and guns instead ,I had the first thing I ever bought from Holland come to Canada and for some reason it was sent back to Holland $45 that the shipper had to pay I had friend in Holland that he took it to as they were comming to near me I reimberst him for his troubles The freight cost more than what I bought I only have paid customs three times on over 100 things .Alot of couiers charge more for brokerage then what it is worth .
