That Dodge WC is a crock of s**t and he wants $10,000 for it?

Tell him he's dreaming.

Both Jeeps are same vendor.
He obviously does not want to sell either of them.

I keep looking at these links thinking that they're advertised for sale "In Australia" :confused, while the people who are in the same country as the sellers are not looking at this thread at all due to the title.

Apolgies, as I must have contributed to the confusion. As an administrator, I changed the original title "'Military vehicles for sale" to the current title to cover the subject better. As it was, the title seemed to suggest Scott had military vehicles for sale, but it turned out he was posting Australian ads for us to peruse. Until that is, Scott started posting all advertisements for all sort of HMV's all across the globe.

Scott, therefore I kindly propose to stick to the subject, or start a one titled "window shopping for big boys toys" or similar in the Sergeant's Mess.

Thanks in advance!
Hanno

Sus it is, Ryan. The compliance plate reads engine "T" which IIRC is the 351cid Cleveland V8 with 4V heads. H

Nice spotting.
Why would anyone want to replace a 351 with a bloody nissan diesel?

That, my friend, I cannot answer.
A good 4V is worth a few bob but I bet the engine swap wasn't cheap, either!

I'm sus too as the ID plate indicates its trim is black and paint is black. Rego indicates it was first civy regoed in 1977 and didnt belong to the army. I suspect its a full mock up.

Discription has been changed. Was the bid made before or after the discription change?

I checked with local Ford dealer today. It WAS supposed to be black & black. There is NO military or Govt link at all that has been recorded. Great story though, he should write childrens books!

It would seem the seller has recently been informed (or finally checked properly) of the true heritage. Fancy stating as fact, the crap in the listing! Some silly b/stard that couldn't bother to investigate would have bought that, thinking it was "Very Rare". I guess it is rare if you consider what the poor thing has suffered, the indignity of a 4cyl diesel in a Ford loxury vehicle.

Looks like he's seen the light about misleading information and what the legal ramifications could be if sold. K Nob!

Hi Tony,
I take "100% original" as meaning original! How it rolled off the factory floor.
A hood made in Australia is not original for a GPW / MB.
There is no mention in the add that it is a WW2 AIF / 1950's AMF made one.

Quote:

WW2 Jeep - Willys MB/ Ford GPW Hood- 100% Orig, used condition, open rear window, oblong with rounded corners, two very minor flaws (see pics), does not detract, rectangular hole to allow the jerrycan strap to come thru the back panel, P37 style straps, 100% original, low BIN compared to repros.

It looks nothing like an original hood, the way it is made, the buckles.
I dont have a problem with the hood and it would suit my Aust Army GPW, just the way the seller advertised it.
Cheers
Jeff
