Does it still work......

.... since the Magnetic North pole has moved location drifting slightly every year since 1942......... and now squarely in Canadian territory would it still work ??????

Any batteries required..?

You may not relate to this... I remember (that bit, Bob) some aspects of map reading, during my basic training, quite well.
When giving a grid reference, to remember which way around it went (latitude and longitude) The lesson from Sgt. "Skin" Hornbrooke :salute: was; " You have to put it across her, before you put it up her"
Bob, be careful your gov'mint doesn't start taxing you each time your compass swings to point to magnetic north.

Went to a proper Christian school.....

..... while training as a cadet in the armored corps the saying was.....

....Remember you have to get there before you can go to the higher floors....

Strange how things you learned 55 years ago still rings true today....

Good one. When I was in the signals (before the Rifles) it was

"along the corridor and up the stairs".

I remember "in the house and up the stairs".

In my old infantry unit (I'd embarrass them if I told you which one) it was "that way first then that way".
