13 cab windshield question

Does anyone have details or pics (or a set!!) of the L straps that join the top rail of a 13 cab CMP windshield to the lower frame?

Not really sure what part you are talking about?

It's the joint between the top rail and the bottom. I expect the 'L" slides into the top piece and is threaded to take the two holes (per side) in the lower.

Correct. I know I have a few kicking about. However none of that stuff is accessible to me at the moment.

They are a cast piece. They fit a snug loose into the top frame and the side frames. They have 4 threaded holes. Two on the top that line up with the counter sunk holes. And two to line up with the holes on the front of the side frames. From memory the top holes are 10-32 and the other two are 8-32

Thanks Jordan. No hurry of course but if you managed to dig one (or four) out, well that would be great.

Later ones maybe welded steel

Hi Bruce and Jordan

The L peices on my HUP which is a June 1945 are welded steel. Very clearly two peices of square stock welded to make an L that slip inside the window frame. Drilled and tapped for the screws.

Another example of minor manufacturing differences in CMPs.

Hope that helps.

Cheers Phil

That makes three types. Although I don't have any, my frames have holes in the lower vertical posts but none in the top rail. This version must have the L slide into the top the top rail, then the two protruding ends slide into the lowers to receive their 8-32 screws.
