Chocolate Turtles?

I am sure that the same programe is shown in Canada....but in EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS the Mum/Mom is addicted to boxes of candy..'Chocolate Turtles'. This has intrigued our family...never heard or come across them before. Given that the setting is early 80s, this makes it more fascinating to know if there ever was or is such a candy on sale?

We definately have chocolate TURTLES over here ..... made of "pecans, creamy caramel and pure milk chocolate" roughly in the shape of a turtle. (I'm sure there are many different recipes for Turtles.

... very popular to give a box of chocolate Turtles, or a small package in a stocking at Christmas time especially, but you can buy them any time of year. Homemade or gourmet ones are good too :)

Ma Yappy

I am sure that that's the box, the Nestle one, that's in the TV show! Thanks Karmen!

Now why did I not think of looking on the net? In Homer Simpson's immortal words: Doh!

The Nestley's ones are the ones most people mean when they talk about "Turtles" :) They are really good. Very sweet though. Pricey, as most chocolates are these days.

I'm sure if you Googled for TURTLES RECIPES you'd come up with a bunch ;)

I didn't realize they've been around since at least the 80's though. (memory blanks ... short term and long term memory problems now :D )

Karmen.
