So now that I can work on the jeep and the rain has subsided somewhat...I would love to know what colour and size Canadain flag would go on the right front fender and the rear of my jeep?
It was in service till 1976 so I imagine that it had several types. I painted it in the dark black green matt finish that it was primarily in when sold to the public.
Is it the balck flat finish or the gold or green almost dayglow colour which I did find small specs of when sanding and welding...?

decal

It is about 4" tall and 7" wide. Someone will chime in with the NATO stock number.

The flag decals are 3" X 6", and, just for Terry, the NSN is 7890-21-868-2606.

Am I gethering they are the red and white national flag we have today and not the red ensign...? correct?

Alright and the decals would be availible from...
Any phots with the rear location would be great as well. thanks all

Hey...Thanks Rob.

Hi Chris guessing you put them on your 70CDN3? If you can can you send me or post a photo of both ends with them on...then I may be able to better place an ad to see about getting some or having them made...Thanks Casey

Here is a scan of the one I grabbed from downstairs. It's a bit streaked...sorry.

It was printed by a company in Mississauga Ontario called Sealcraft Inc. The phone number on the back is 905-677-3200, although this number also comes up as Romano imports, so it looks like the company is mufti-faceted. Not sure if they printed these up regularly or just won a one-off bid to make them.

Here is a listing on ebay for some that are just about the right size. Only problem is you will have to paint the white background behind the maple leaf: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Canada-Flag-C...0c2a63&vxp=mtr

The FMCOs detailed where the flags were to be placed. But most troops did not read the FMCOs, so the flag could be found on the hood, either fender front, the windshield, or the front bumper, and usually on one of the two rear bumperettes.

Thanks Rob I'll try that number tomorrow and let you know...if not have the link for the other from EPAY! Thanks again Casey

The flag decals I have are likely about 14 years old, so it is very possible the company will have no idea what you are asking about. Good luck, I guess you never know.

I ended up going the eBay route for 3" x 6" decals. I was able to find red on a white background from Edmonton no less. I wanna say both cost me under $10 shipped.

I actually managed to scrounge some of the NSN'd ones from work pictured above, but they were so old that they really didn't stick very well anymore.
