OMVA Summer Show 2016

Trying to gage interest from our Members in resurrecting an OMVA summer show for 2016?
I anticipate a vehicle show/demonstration area/ swap meet/ camping during a weekend.
Thinking Fri night campout, Sat show and swap and ?
Lets toss out some ideas.
Venue TBD, likely West GTA

I'd try to go...

depending on when and where...

OMVA Summer Show 2016

Great idea! Like Charlie, I would definitely try to attend. Chris...if this moves forward and help is needed to organize/make it happen, I'll do what I can. An OMVA stand alone event would be awesome but it might be worthwhile to consider being part of another appropriate event that already has a venue and some of the groundwork already taken care of...just a thought.
Cheers, Terry.

Thanks for the offer Terry.
I have considerd pairing up with another event although that does bring on it's own inherent issues and may overshadow who we are and what we do. Having an event we can call our own and stand by ourselves is the direction I would like to see taken.
We are looking at a venue which would provide more than adequate space for display, camping, vending and vehicle demonstration in a controlled setting.

It would be nice from this person's viewpoint if the small amount of decent weather time can be capitalised on.

I would favour trying to do something in conjunction with the Aquino event at the end of May with the Oshawa Regiment Museum and Ferret Club.

I think deep down we all want to have an event that showcases our hobby for us and the public.

I know that was the intent this year for my best mate and myself but both of us could not get our respective vehicles finished in time.

I know there is another organisation that is toying with the idea of an Eastern Ontario event with trail rides and some green lanes and rural road trips and camping.

Distance is a problem and we should also think of doing things on alternating years so we dont burn out events and locations.

Yearly is too much for bigger events I have found, speaking from the point of view of running and participating in a large Land Rover club.

I will pull up a sandbag and watch now

Robin
