While sorting stuff, I came across a metal box, about 6" x 6" x 3" deep, marked:

SPARE PARTS
FOR
GYRO GUN SIGHT
TYPE VI MARK II

I wonder if it fits anything I own or might aspire to own. If so, I should keep it. If not, I guess it's for sale. No, I don't have the sight or even the parts. Just the box.

I think the Type VI was used on shipboard AA guns.

Yes, the box is black. The above information is on a decal on the top. A decal on the under side of the top says:
