Well with all the social stuff and family parties over Rob Clarke gave me a hand........ I mean he motivated me...pushed me.... to cleanup the barn.... the cleanest it has been for the last 10 years..... we can now see the floor..... and the walls....

We installed an additional 5 sections of shelving.... 15 feet long and 10 feet high..... we now have room for two vehicle...ahem or frames inside....

I know this is not pure CMP... but the shelves are partly filled with CMP parts.... we willnot mention the attic.....

First the existing shelving oveflowing....

Bob Carriere 08-01-06 04:45

Long shot from one end of the barn to the other......

Who can tell what brand beer Rob likes????

Reason for all of this....

Having a buddy to work with that talks the same crazy CMP language and shares the same obsession is precious.

I have accomplished more since working with Rob than all the previous years...... also accumulated more stuff now that I have a partner in crime.

Thanks for your help and the motivation to get off my lazy ass.

........ what keeps us warm when it is -25C outside......

Jordan Baker 08-01-06 05:41

Nice setup you that you have.

I just have a cold and very dusty barn with a ceiling full of straw/chicken sh*t dust from the last 60 years above me and really poor lighting. However it is really nice and cool in the summer.

Actually you barn not as bad as the ones at my grandparents farm. Typical farmers never pitch anything out. Can't even count how many buckets of old rusty nails that have been saved. This goes back to square ones. But I did find an original government wartime manuar spreader out in one of the less used barns. Its all there except for the wheels as they were replaced with rubber car tires in the late forties. Would make an interesting restoration piece.

Looking good Bob

engine

Bob, whats the make of the old engine in your first photo. I t's good to have a clean up from time to time, I always find that I have misplaced over the years.

Max

Now, of course...

...Bob can't find a blessed thing! Don't get too happy over the space Bob, your frame will fill the back up nicely, and my HUP frame will fill the front.

Now that we have finished with the rewelding of my front spring mount, I can put her back together and roll it into the barn to run brake lines. My mechanic friend from Kenya, Brian, is willing to help, but does not like the idea of working out of doors in January - wonder why?

Thanks for the opportunity to work under shelter. I promise the barn will be messed up again soon - especially when we finish our run to S. Ontario!

Bob Carriere 08-01-06 21:23

NOVO.....

Hi Max

Sharp eyes Max...... nobody YET has spotted the brand of beer Rob drinks and I mouch.....

The engine is a single cyl 4 HP NOVO engine...made inthe States they were imported in Canada for various purpose.... mine has a large brass tag from the London Cement mixer co'y.......

I bought it afew years back before my CMP attack.... I was into older make & break engines..... this one has been coupled toan older Ingersol air compressor... the old compressor head as a water cooled hopper similar to the Novo engine..... runs real good when I get the patience to crank it over.......

If you are interested I can take some close up pictures.

Rob....ppphhhyyyttttsss....if I can't find it I will go out and buy a new one...... everybody knows you always find things after I get a replacement.....and I cleaned up the snow so you willnot have to spin around the barn.....

Bob

RHClarke 08-01-06 22:33

Busy, Bob?

It looks like you put up some new lights on the ceiling. By the way, thanks for removing the snow, but I think it was the ice that caused the problem... good thing we saved the sandblasting leftovers...too bad the barrel is hidden by the snow...

It must be nice and warm in the barn as my engine (nicely covered in photo one) is now nekked (photo three)! I won't be out to the barn until Tuesday or Wednesday night - got company, who unfortunately isn't into old trucks.

Say hello to the better half and the cat-house for us.

Bob Carriere 10-01-06 03:31

Cat house...

Don't start telling the guys about my cat house .... and all the little pussies running around.

The sand barrel is partly dugout........

Wednesday is Mom's night...... Tuesday wood turners meeting.... Thursday looks good.....

...and now is snowed again!!!!!! won't Spring ever come!!!!

Why wait for Spring? Do it now. (anyways?)

Hope Spring Eternal

Bob, it may be prudent to reveal the truth about Hammond's one and only Cat House. After all, with the BBQ coming up in August, some of fellow CMPers with fragile constitutions may be overwhelmed by all of the red lights, fur, pillow beds and cat fights.

It might be a good way to generate revenue to help pay for the vandoo mortors* and police fines for noise violations expected at the BBQ. Perhaps participants can "adopt" one of these slinky darlings for a hour or even a night...Even more reason for our patient readers and CMP enthusiasts to make the trip to Hammond for BB1!

*vandoo mortor - referring to the old fashion chem toilets that had a bad habit of emitting explosive gasses that reacted (in the predicted manner) to the open flame of a cigarette lighter owned by a corporal belonging to one of the army's finest Quebec-based infantry battalions.

Red light an all.....

Better fessup.....

The cat house is only a 8 x 12 room.... insulated.... with three heat lamps that emit a sexy glow.... and things just purrrrrs in there.

Always wanted one.........

...just like breasts...... for 40 years I wanted some.... now I have some and I think they make me look old!!!!!!

.....boy are we straying from CMP!!!! I promise to post a picture before all you randy gentlemen make plans to invade Hammond next August.......

They have some really good support bras out there for those things ya know. You probably won't find good support at Victoria's Secret though as their stock is just "for showing off" and I don't think you'll want to show yours off, so try Walmart.

 Ma :yappy:

cmperry4 15-01-06 06:07

Enough with the boobage already, you rogues.

I hope my country workshop looks as good come spring when I start to get things set up there. That furnace look very cozy - I'm envious For various reasons, I likely won't be using the outside boiler to heat the shop next winter, and may have to rely on various electrical devices, or get one of those kerosene jobs.

Ach, I just remembered I promised RHC some dimensions - must deal with that now.

After a long and dangerous journey (had to climb over a few mounds of horse poop) I managed to get a picture of the wartime government manuar spreader. Its been sitting for a few decades.

The Liberals have taken over that job...Oops! Wrong thread...

$$$uggestion.....

Jordan

Two birds with one stone....

Suggest you cleanup that corner as you can use the space....

It looks like a Cockshutt spreader.... in any event..... take it out and steam clean it...... put it out in front for the Yuppies to by as a front lawn ornament.... use the money for CMP parts or beer....

Bob
PS.... worth about $250....if they stop by in an AUDI.... $350
