A&SH of C in Jamaica/NWE

Thought you all would find these pictures intersting. They are courtesy of the A&SH of C Regimental Museum.

The first 5 are from their time in Jamaica. Of particular note is the Carrier with the painted Goofy on the side. The museum has some colour film taken while in Jamaica. One of the scenes is of the carriers roaming around a field. One of the carriers has Donald Duck painted on the side. On the original picture of the Carrier going through the surf you can just make out another Disney figure painted on the side. Sadly its too blury to make out what the character is.

The CMP is an early C15 2x4 version.

The next picture is beleived to be from the Camp Niagara region.

The last two are from NWE. Of note is the Office tent setup along the side of the truck.

Formation Flash

The big, unresolved mystery is the use (or not) of a yellow diamond formation flash worn by Canadian troops ('N' Force) in the Caribbean. Many references refer to such a flash yet there is no official documentation or authorization for it. No photographic or actual wartime tunics have been found to support it either...yet the question remains. Was such a flash worn, perhaps unofficially? Was it a 'coming home' or post war veteran thing?

Full disclosure: I have a pair of yellow melton flashes in my collection that match in every respect real Atlantic, Pacific and overseas flashes and I would love to know whether they are real or just a made up fantasy.

Next time I'm in the A&SHofC museum I'll go through more pictures again. They have two binders full of pics from Jamaica.

Characters theme

Those Disney character naming themes appear in other theatres .... Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs being one of them.

Shaun?

Any thoughts on what the purpose of this truck could be? Initially I was thinking water truck but then it was pointed out that there is two cylinders mounted on the side. The main tanks look similar to the bulk petrol truck bodies.

Thinking it could be some kind of anti malaria spraying vehicle?
