Ford Master Cylinder

Hi All

Just spotted on epay Ford Master Cylinder.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/221895442237...witem=&vxp=mtr

All comments about epay aside, if you need one.

normal disclaimer no connection with seller

Cheers Phil

PS Please read the posts below, started this HEADS UP thread for a part that I spotted and didn't need but didn't know if some else in the MLU Community might need. We are rewarded with other sources and better prices now that's what MLU is all about. Thanks guys

Thanks for the heads-up, Phil.

Anyone looking for a Ford master cylinder, please note that it is still a current off-the-shelf item and should be available through auto part store channels - see Modern part numbers for CMPs

If you have one needing a rebuild - the seals and pistons etc. are the same as on other American trucks like the Dodge WC-series for example.

Rockauto lists them at about the same price, I bought one on spec a while back, will be using it on the 15cwt trailer when I get to that part of the rebuild. One caution about the M/C cap on the ebay M/C - if hit it cracks easily.

Half the price from Rock auto:

From Rock auto: CARDONE SELECT 1334572 {#MC4572} w/ Reservoir http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/images/Heart.png
Manual brakes; with 1-1/4" Master Cylinder Bore......CAD$45.03

Yes, from Robs advice, I bought two 1+1/4" bore master cylinders (81T 0r 91T or what ever they were) from Rock auto. I now have two CMP 1 +1/2" wheels cylinders coming from there as well. Price is pretty good with purchase price only just beaten by the freight price. I would like to have stainless sleeved my old cylinders, but I can buy (roughly)about 3 sets from Rock Auto for the money.

Rob's price from Rockauto made me go back to their site. There are now 3 choices. Raybestos MC4572 at C$75.73, CARDONE SELECT 1334572 at C$45.06 and A-1 CARDONE 1034572 (reman) at C$35.72+(core C$21.34)=C$57.06 With the cost of return postage on the core, I doubt there are many takers on the remanufactured part.
The original part number was 91T-2140, later replaced by C098TFS-2140 which is noted "Same as 91T-2140 except painted army colour."
