Do Your Research

$US99.99, you must be kidding. I sell mine, that are identical, for $AUD35 a set. Although mine are decals they can easily be adhered to your old plates. However I do have some original plates at $AUD5 each. I also have the Ford ones plus sets of the seven small Chevrolet switch plates.

I don't know whether the plates being sold are for a Cab 12. There are other plates that are brass. I have to date not been able to determine the time-line of these two styles but I believe the silver plates are more suited to Cab 13s.

Is he someone you know?

Looking through his other items, I expected to see more repro items, but saw nothing else.

They look to be reasonably good copies of the switch plates. I am tempted to buy a set and get more made from them :D

Mine are made of a stamped design, so it should be simple to get a good result by using the different heights of the pressing (wording etc is lower) and gently removing the black from the high parts. I toyed around with this technique many months ago. The idea worked beautifully. It took a very light touch to do it without unwanted rubbing through.

Now I just need to actually do the set I will be installing on the dash. I should have done em when I cleaned & rebuilt the instrument panel. They will join the ranks of the 'ron' jobs :D

Plates

The original steel ones have a printed design, unlike the etched ones, black on light grey. I notice the smaller one in the ebay listing appears to have a large hole in the middle which normally has no hole, unless fitted with a switch for the autopulse electric fuel pump (on a Ford).

Possible seller ID

I am not 100% sure, but suspect the seller may be Eric Delcommenne, a member here.

I have seen several cases where the middle (of 3) location is used for the inspection light connestion socket. Again, not 100% sure this was factory but I've seen quite a few with it located there.

Inspection Light Plug

Hi Grant

My late production HUP is one of those that has the Socket for the Inspection Light in that center location. As the wiring to the plug behind the dash was all original when I acquired my HUP and the plug wires were part of the harness, I would say the Socket was original equipment.

Cheers Phil
