Bedford Trucks in BEF

I am working on some Milicast Model kits.

I was told these Bedford commercial vehicles were pressed into service in 1939 in the BEF. Most were abandoned in France during the retreat to Dunkirk and were then re-used by the Wehrmacht.

Did anybody have photos to confirm these please?

Thanks

I doubt the front wheels looked like that?

Early Bedfords of about 1939-40 were on the civilian type wheels with dual rears, check out photos from Dunkirk 1940, and there were a lot of impressed vehicles taken into service at that time.

So What are you saying Richard? Those front wheels with that center offset would leave a bigger gap between the rear tyres, which at least implies different wheels front to rear. How many holes in the civvy wheels? Six? (not the stud holes)

They are the same wheels all around.

Bedford MS/ML 2 Ton or OS/OL 3 Ton ?
The last photo is not the original hood?

Lynn,
Don't be led by the photos in the first post as the offset of the wheels on the models are rather exaggerated from the real thing.

Richard, that's what I was saying.
Konstantin, thank you for the photos.

Thanks very much for your help. The first one looks like OS to me.

Probably 2nd and 4th photos - series O, 3rd photo - series M.
The differences are visible on the hood grommets ( eyelets ).
