Gents, can anyone tell me if these to bags at the top of the pic are muzzle covers?, perhaps for rhe 2 pdr, bofers etc?.
Thanks Kevin. |
They are mop caps, the bag that cleaning mops and pull-throughs are kept in.
Muzzle covers have a strap, not a drawstring. |
Adrian, ok thanks

Hi all,
Speaking of muzzle covers, can anyone help me identify this one please? I'm assuming it is a muzzle cover. It is dated 1944 inside the cover. The diameter at the end is about 7", or around 180mm. |

Muzzle cover
Hi Mel,
Thanks for that. I certainly don't have a 5.5" gun so it is of no use to me. I'll put it in the for sale section and see if it is of use to anyone. |

Hi Mel,
It looks like I've answered my own question. I pulled the cover inside out and got under some good light and it says: COVER MUZZLE 3.7 ? 1944 ? It seems big for a 3.7" barrel but I guess if it had the big flared muzzle brake it would be right. I should have looked harder in the first place! Thanks for your help. |

This is what you need if anyone wants to make any. I need one for the Daimler but I don't own the original to copy.
