At the risk of being abused.

Cut and pasted from last year, but all that changes are the dates:
And we do have a budget for those who register early.

CANADA Day in Preston Ontario

I'm once again looking for Veh Owners in the neighbourhood on JULY 1 2010.

"Cambridge Celebrates Canada Day is celebrating its 35th Anniversary this year. Each year we attract more people to the city of Cambridge for our Canada Day Festival and for the 2009 event we intend on increasing our attendees by promoting outside the Region of Waterloo. We are now listed in EFO. This will be a televised event.
The Largest Canada Day Parade in the Country will take place on Wednesday July 01, 2010 at 1:00PM starting from Preston Auditorium located at Bishop and Hamilton Streets. The parade will then proceed down King Street 4 KM and will disband at Kin Stadium inside Riverside Park.
Cambridge Celebrates Canada Day committee would like to invite you to participate in our parade for the 2010 event"

Contact me if you wish to participate. Stewart Loy, Jordan Baker and I have a plan in place from many years experience.

Many thanks

If there isn't a WW2 vehicle for me to drive, I'd be happy to include my camouflaged TJ Jeep in the parade. It may be modern, but it looks lean and mean and will fit several veterans as required. I'm sure there would be no complaints. Let me know.

When are you sticking these back together?

If I'm around, I wouldn't be adverse to twisting a few wrenches...

Jordan Baker 09-04-10 04:41

not too sure yet. ive got to get an intake manifold for the jeep. As for the carrier, not sure either as Mike is saying it might be a bit longer. Just havn't heard back from him yet.

But I will let you know.

charlie fitton 06-05-10 22:28

anyone able to confirm attendance yet?

I want to start recruiting for warrior day pde soon....

Canada Day parade in Preston

I have an 1955 M211 CDN that I would be happy to bring to the parade. Not restored, but original. Let me know if you want it for the parade.

Would also consider the Warrior Day parade in Sept, depending on the date.

Please let me know.

charlie fitton 08-05-10 23:34

Mel -

the more the merrier, I have a bit of a budget, so can fork over a bit of gas money.

stay tuned

Just a reffresher-

to those of you still interested,

I got a new heart put into BuckytheWonderCarrier and he's running like a top.

This is always an excellent parade, and I may have a few $ for veh owners who book through me.

I was told King & Bishop Streets, before 1100H. I'll be there between 1000 and 1030H just to be safe. Maybe Mr. Fitton can confirm?

charlie fitton 30-06-10 16:56

both are correct-

1000 or soat the parking lot, 1100 or so at King and Bishop

Doing London this year.

Jif,

I am planning to be downtown London for the Canada Day / Hero's Day festivities this year.

Are you going to Upper Canada Village next weekend?

I doubt it, Stewart. With no evident camping and no serious MLU partying expected, it's a hell of a long way to go for a few hours. Who else is going?

charlie fitton 30-06-10 23:15

there is event camping,

Thanks to all of you who came for the event. It is a truly amazing turnout in such a small town, aint it.
Sorry I was lat, but duty called.

Book for the same event nexxt year, maybe someone can post some photos.

Geoff Winnington-Ball (RIP) 05-07-10 23:08

Agreed, Mr. Fitton. Outstanding in all regards! It seemed the whole damned town was out! My kind of people, and it was a privilege to be there representing our Armed Forces past & present.

Thanks,

Geoff
