1940 ford cmp - will it run?
Interesting video showing how a F15A with Cab 11 is being put back on the road:
https://youtu.be/_SQtC_COTac This shop is located in Kleefeld Manitoba Canada. Does anyone know the owner of this truck? Quote:

Very nice video Hanno . It represents well what we go through when we restore these historical gems . Frustrations and victories .The dedication is very emotional and touching .

At about 39 minutes into the video, and after all the repair work has been done, the mechanic expects the Ford to run. It, of course, cranks, fires, spits, makes strange noises and refuses to for no good reason other than it's a Ford.
Been there done that. Everyone with a Ford has. |
Bruce , that’ s a great way to make ennemies …. like Rob Love who swears by Ford’s ….

The situation Bruce describes is not my experience with the Fords. Usually you touch the button for less than a second and it purrs so quietly, some hit the starter again even though it's running.
Faulty work is the cause of their problem in the video.....you can do the same to the best and the worst of vehicles...... I notice they did not have to place 4 to 5 drain pans underneath it like you do with the Chevs. |
Bruce, I rebuilt my distributor with an electronic module, I rebuilt my old carby and fitted them both to the engine that I had assembled. It fired up straight away and I have never adjusted either. A water pump did leak prolifically. Does that disqualify me from being part of the not mentioned minority?

Furds don't leak.....
..... because they drip dry empty!!!!!!
Take that Furd lovers.......... now the war is on!!!! What side are you on Mr. Bergeron???........... Just sitting here waiting for the freezing rain to start. Bob C. |

Bruce, check what you've done! I see you made a mistake!

Bob Carriere , i have had both Fords & Chevy’s . I technicaly still have a Ford ( MKII Carrier ) . I hate with a vengeance the ( Ford) helmet distributor and it’s location ! Had to take off the radiator to work on it on the 1942 F-15 A . It’s a pain and near impossible to work on it on the Carrier . The Chevy’s leak and have Ford brake parts but are easier to work on. In my opinion it’s a draw . How are my diplomacy skills doing ?

You should run for office.......
....... you would make a good fence sitter.......
All in jest of course. Now that Pertronics has designed an electronic module for the Ford flaty the solution is at hand............ and run Pertronic on my Chev...... but it still leaks. To better weather. Bob C |
