One For The Tasmanians

Hi all
Does anyone have an image or information regarding 6 Military District (Tasmania) Tac Sign depicting an owl on a branch. Not sure if it was ever issued.

Got a copy of stephen tauberts book, that should have some information.

Can't say that i've got any information, but I have been getting some help from a major at hte bandian museum over the last couple of days about the marklings that I found on my ambulance, maybe he will be able to help?

Bob it is one I have not heard of either but I will keep my eyes and ears peeled. Please let me know if you turn any info up on it as I would be interested in what does turn up. I have Stephens book here as well.

The organisation was disbanded late in 1943.

That's all I have managed to find out so far, but that's only from Stephen's book, so that would be nothing you don't already know.

found this while browsing the AWM with the caption....

MELBOURNE, VIC. 1946-07-10. AIF FORMATION SIGN, TASMANIA FORCE

Note it is dated 1946 so perhaps Tasmania Force was not disbanded.
