Rowville army camp, Melbourne.

Very interesting reading here . Not many Melbournians would know of the WW2 Rowville army camp , situated on the corner of Stud Rd and Wellington Rd. The site is now occupied by a power sub-station .

The reference to the bren carrier accident on Stud Rd , is new to me .

Very interesting, Mike

It's fascinating to learn about how Melbourne was involved in this period of history. I was particularly fascinated in it's use as a POW camp and surprised at the story of the officer commanding the prisoners and his unfitness to be in that position, particularly after the war.
