Ford CMP horn
Want to buy a working Ford CMP horn. 6V.
Willing to pay postage from where ever, in your currency. |
Just maybe.......?
Hi Tony: Funny you should bring up the horn subject. I just pulled out a box of horns and sirens that I gathered over the years and forgotten about (comes with age). In that "bunch" is a "FORD" horn. And when I say its a Ford, it's actually off a Japanese Jeep. The shape is exactly the same as the Ford CMP. The only difference is the grill in the horn, which is only held in by a locking ring. With a little skill on a drill press, you could easily reproduce the right look for the grill. The other thing is that the finish on it is CHROME, which would give your vehicle a slightly "gay" look, unless you gave it a burnish and painted it OD green. Now I think it's 6 volt, but I won't know till tomorrow when I go to the shop. I will do some homework tomorrow, take some pictures and post them for tomorrow on the site. I also have some Chev 6 volt horns. Anyway we'll talk tomorrow. cheers....Robert
PS: Apologies to any "gays". No harm intended. R |

I'll keep it in mind, but I might hang out longer for a genuine 6V original, one that doesn't require "Conversion Therapy" to OD. |
If you have no lick on this site, keep an eye on ebay for terms like "vintage ford horn" or "flathead ford horn". A quick check just now only came up with a couple close ones, but they do show up there.

for what it's worth....
Hi Tony; I'll post the pictures anyway, but I also have one like Rob showed which needs a resurrection of sorts.
Talk later....Robert PS: I had the one your looking for many years ago, but I'm sure I sold it to Andrew Rowe of this forum. R |
