These 1941 Chevrolet sedan based utes were assembled for the military by GM-H, production would have been less than 500 in total. Very few have survived , there was a very nice example in a rural wrecking yard in Northern Victoria in the early 1980s. It was available for $50.

There is an AEC Matador in both photos, it has dual wheels on the rear and a new body, obviously demobbed, cannot read the name on the side.

The N.T. Chevy ute has what appears to be a 'Allied Works Council' reg. plate . I have seen a similar AWC reg. plate on a FWD HAR , down in Tasmania.
