M101 Trailer

Hi,
Im looking for a CDN M101 trailer to go with m 67 CDN2 jeep. What is there availability and price range. Also what is the requirement to bring one back into the US?
Thanks Richard

Retsarge, met you in Findlay, hope all is well!
You’d want a M100 for your ‘67. The M101 was a 3/4t trailer much to large to be pulled by a 1/4 ton.
Canadian M100 trailers are similar to the US ones but are getting hard to find in good shape as they are 1950s vintage.
I’d suggest you find a US M100 and paint it up to match your Jeep with Cdn markings.

Perhaps he means the M101CDN2 (Iltis trailer). While the time lines don't overlap with the M38A1, they are the toughest version of the M-series 1/4 ton trailer yet. I have both the M101CDN2 and the M100. It is the M101Cdn2 that I use all the time.

In the event you are talking about a M100 1/4 ton traielr, then you will be wanting one made in Winnipeg by Motor Coach Industries in either late 52 or in 1953. Best place to find those is to look on kijiji....they come up from time to time as do the M101CDN2.

There is currently a half dozen of the M101Cdn2 trailer presently listed on kijiji. Even with the weak Cdn dollar, they are priced from high to obscene.

And here is the one lone M100 presently listed for sale: https://www.kijiji.ca/v-cargo-utilit...ationFlag=true

I bought 27 of the M101CDN2 trailers off the DND back in the day. I sold a half dozen to a friend in the salvage business who still has some for sale. I don't think his prices are as obscene as kijiji, so if you want to shoot me a PM I can give you his contact information.

Rob,
You are correct, l did mean a 1/4 ton M101CDN2 isis trailer. If l can find one in good shape and for a reasonable price. what is required to be able to take it across the border? I have not seen any on this side, but am interested in finding one. Thanks. Richard

Here is a page from US customs about importing, however I have sold vehicles to Americans and they have just shown up at the border and got them through.

I believe you just need the signed registration and a bill of sale. It might be best to talk with your local border customs guys first.

I remember the M101cdn2 trailers when they were going at auction for roughly 3-400. Good times. :)

Hi Chris,
My wife and l both remember you very well, had a very enjoyable conversation that day. Yes l can remember years ago a real good jeep cost about 3k. Luckily l got mine 14 years ago.
