...an Allis Chalmers M7 Snowtractor serial number 208 of 294.:D It used to be used for emergency rescues by the Sussex fire department in Detroit postwar. I just need more pics of it:cheers:

Sean, are these of any help? The M7, along with the rest of the collection of the marshall Museum, has been transferred to the National War and Resistance Museum at Overloon.

Hi Hanno,
appreciate you lookin gout for me as always. How are all the little ones, haven't heard an update for awhile. And do not tell me #4 is on the way, or do you need one more for a sherman crew ?
I am surprised to find the Marshall museum gave up its collection! It had a beautiful setup for a museum, nice diorammas the works. Do you have any more info as to why? Is the collection closer to you now? I see the M19 trailer is no longer behind the M7 too, they were so integral to one another it should be . Even the manual isn't separate , it contains info on both tractor and trailer.

Hi Sean, all's well here. Three kids is enough for a Sherman Firefly (or T16) crew so I'll stick with that, thanks. Hope Shamus and the missus are doing ok?

The Marshall museum was the hobby of Mr. de Groot who made a fortune selling his steel fabrication business Grootint to Heerema Group (offshore and marine contractors). When retired he first bought the remaining stock (several dozens) of Ward La France Heavy Wreckers from the Belgian Army, as he started his business with one of these wreckers. The collection expanded and was made into a museum. As Mr. de Groot is getting older, he decided he had to find a good home for his Marshall museum. There were several options but last year it was decided to transfer the whole collection to Overloon. The transfer is either still in process or just completed, so it might well be the M7 and M19 will be displayed together again sometime soon.

Tractor guy's M7. That is a good friend of mine who is really an Allis Chalmers tractor collector. This is a really rare Allis , and so covetted by them.
Richard did a frame off restore and located as many NOS parts as he could find and even bought a saginaw from Gordon. He made his own skis and is a very very nice gentlemen with a lovely wife Peggie.
I believe this was his first Military Show with the tractor becasue it was near his place. he normally shows it at tractor events.

It's an M29 Weasel with the 15" tracks and no side extensions or float gear....

Don't know how I missed the last photo you posted but it is really awesome. At a look , I am guessinf that they did not have the tires mounted on the M7 in the storage position or they might have slipped them on before loading. Also, they couls have backed the M7 on under its own power because the underside is all sheeted in and it the front would have slid over the ground easily.

Notice the drive sprocket and return roller on the T-15, look very similar, if not identical, to those on the M7. Which , I might ad, a certain chap in Scotland and another in the colonies have a load of. :D
