Carrier choke cable

Hi, Does anyone have a section of carrier used choke cable sheath ?, I need two pieces each about 19” long for a project, outside diameter needs to be the 6mm 1/4” type, no matter if surface rusty but needs to be structurally sound. I’ve attached a picture here.

Kevin.

Any chance this product might show up with vintage bicycle, or motorcycle, suppliers?

Hi, Thanks for the reply, I’ve looked into that and can’t locate anything which has a 6mm or 1/4” outside diameter, plenty found about 4.5 to 5mm.

That style of outer is called Bowdenex, different to normal Bowden cable conduit.

Kevin,

Motorcycle clutch and front brake (Bowden) outer cables are around 6mm. The other cables are thinner. ( I've got some spare 6mm Bowden cables).

Thanks for the comments, what I need is all steel as I need to solder it so can’t have a plastic sheath, a lot of Bowden cable manufactures don’t want to know as it such a short length.

The pvc sheath is easy to remove.

Buy a new speedo cable for a jeep and trade it to a friend for his old one.

I've heard that these guys (UK) are extremely good.

It’s more akin to a teleflex cable off a powerboat.

Thanks for the reply’s, I managed to source some cable from JJ cables in the U.K. with an OD of 4.6mm which was close enough to what I need, this would be suitable for the choke cable in a carrier but used for a different purpose here :
