driver/mechanic class III
 

Gents:

I am working on bio of relative KIA-at Naviglio Canal, Italy 1945 with 4 PLDG.

I have most of his records from Archives but thought you fellows might provide a more expedient answer to my query:

Would a Driver.Mechanic Class III operate a Fox or Otter car or would he have driven other vehicles instead?

I know that he qualified as above at Borden prior to shipping out to UK and then Italy.

Could anyone advise as to this trade and what it meant in terms of actual employment in the 4th Recce Regt ?
