Photos needed
I am working on a new book that will cover the acquisition and use, by the Canadian Army Overseas, of vehicles and weapons.
This will be heavily ilustrated and I have already located many new photos. However, I am still looking for additional photos of the items listed below. Unless otherwise stated the photos should be of Canadian vehicles or in use by the Canadian Army. Although I would like never-before-published photos I can use Cdn Archives reference numbers and I will then research other pictures in the same file. Let me know if you can help in this project. Thnx, Clive. |

Where/when
Thanks Hanno. Do you have dates or place names for the Priest photos? When there is no Archives number I can usually find the original negative with that.
Since yesterday's post have located some fine images of Crocodile in support of Cdn troops, M10 3-inchSP, Buffalo and several of the flame thrower images that I sought. |

Members of the Lincoln and Welland Regiment are already in town, many can be seen in the bottom right of this photo." Hope this helps, am looking forward to the book! Regards, Hanno |

Clive;
The below picture is a Ram/Badger of the Badger Troop, H.Q., 5th Cdn Armd Bde, which was commanded by Lt. W.L. McCollum (C.A.C.) from 5 to 19 Apr 45. This picture was sent to me by his Granddaughter has part of some research I was doing for her. That's Lt. McCollum in the top hatch. It was taken in Putten (The Netherlands) on 18 Apr 45. Cheers :) |

I believe this picture to be from the same sequence of photos taken of Kangaroos carrying troops of the 4th Inf Bde, 2nd Cdn Inf Div on 7 Aug 44. I've seen a clearer shot of this photo before and if I remember right, there is a 'chalked' '69' on the centre of the armoured plate which covers the opening for the 105mm How. mounting. This being said and if it is carrying troops of the 2nd Cdn Inf Div, the 'chalked' '69' would suggest that the troops being carried are those of the South Saskatchewan Regiment (6th Cdn Inf Bde, 2nd Cdn Inf Div) whose AoS No. was '69'. The photo in question: Cheers :) |

According to the history (SEMPER PARATUS) of the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry (4th Cdn Inf Bde, 2nd Cdn Div) the Ram Kangaroos in this picture are carrying troops of the RHLI - moving up to Groningen on 13 Apr 45. Sorry, no NAC reference given for the photo itself. The picture in question: Cheers :) |
Good stuff
This is great guys. I have found some excellent shots also but still need some of the more unusual items from my list. As always, a complimentary copy of the finished book for contributors.
