I assembled all the brackets on my crewlocker. Riveted the canvas Bren cleaning tools pouch and stocked the interior with the small pack personal gear. I still have to find 2 more small packs. Lots of large packs around but small packs are hard to come by.
And on to the spare Bren barrel box next! Derk |

Today was the installation of the Bren spare barrel box. I must say I don’t really enjoy working with wood items. I measured the width of the bottom of the box and cut the blocks of wood to that width but at the top where the hinge is and the rivets that hold the hinge on prevented me from dropping it down into place so I trimmed the sides down until I could get the blocks at the bottom. Then I went to screw them down and I didn’t pre-drill the holes and split the wood so had to take it out, glue it back, let it dry and then re-install but pre drilled the blocks first! In the end it worked out.
The crewlocker was installed yesterday and I must say looks pretty good there! I’m getting close to completing this carrier. It’s definitely going to need a good sanding down and repainting once I’m done all the fabricating. Derk |
Hi, What’s the item you got mounted on top of the kit locker box?.
|
That was an alternate spot to mount the crowbar that is mounted at the back plate with the other tools. Not sure why they would have a second spot to mount the crowbar. I would have thought it would be a good spot to mount the track jack but it doesn’t fit. I still don’t know for sure where the track jack was stowed on the Mark 1* carrier!

From what I can work out the bracket on the kit locker box lid is for handle for the British mechanical jack, I’ll post a picture tomorrow of mine stowed there. The Canadian made kit locker boxes still had the bracket arrangement even after they used the Walker 925 jack with shorter handle.

It’s the perfect length to be stowed there.

The parts list states it's for the jack handle.

Well that makes more sense. I couldn’t figure out why there was an alternate stowage spot for the crowbar but the only thing that measured 3 feet 6 inches long was the crowbar. Thanks for clarifying what went in there and the photo of the jack handle removes any doubt.
Now, where did the track jack stow on a Mark 1* carrier??? Thanks,Derk |
I emailed the guy that Tim recommended, but haven't had a reply yet :confused Ron

Would it be possible to see a photo or two of the jack handle so we in the colonies can know what to look for?
I always wondered why the walker jack handles would not fit in the brackets of the Cdn carriers. |
I too emailed the guy about the reproduction smoke generators and haven’t heard back yet. No rush on them but wondering if he received my email?
Thanks,Derk |
