Thanks for the links lads but a bit dissapointing first have the museum forgotton the number of vehicles produced and supplied from the Canadian industry in WW2 i could see very few photos , second as one proceeds down the lists the thumbnails suddenly dissapear i really do not see the point of any organization going to all that trouble to set up a site if one cannot see the subject in the text or again have i missed something, other than that what i could observe were excellent in picture quality

Another day, another try, this time i put in the search box Canadian military vehicles and low and behold up came around 160 items all of which looked promising.so starting from the begining up came some thumb nails all of top qaulity but after half a dozen No Thumbnails, i know i am not the brightest spark in the class when it comes to computers but i was brought up old school where a straight line is just that with no bends so and i repeat why bother to put up a list if one cannot see the subject. I dont know but they possibly do sell items from the site, who is going to purchase if one cannot see the image just going back to the thumbnails when they are no longer shown it says 90open nil does that have a particular ref or do i have to click some where on the page, i have tried all the blues but guess what NO IMAGE. prehaps you guys can help sort out this gripe for me

Les did you use the sidebar options?

It gives the following options:
Sort by: relevance
Limit to: type of material, online, Hierarchical Level and date

If you go to the online option and click on "yes" then you will only get pictures that are available online.

Thanks Wim i now see how its done, but still very little on military vehicles and still cannot get my head around the list i found with no photos to back it up most dissapointing. I note a e mail on the site for comments, i think its time to fry someones toes and find out why they seem to totally ignore the contribution made by the Canadian industry in WW2. I tried Ambulances and found around 60 items but 90% WW1 where are all the cmp pattern truck photos just 1 concentrating on the drivers, they must have a mass of military transport shots in the collection so why not use them. I often wonder the thinking of those who load these sites

Les unless you click the "only online" feature you will get a list that is at least 90% without photos. These are the photos they have in the collection that you can view if you visit the museum but are not availiable to be viewed online as they have not been added to the online viewing area.

Slightly different a civilianised CMP in the background used in the 1950s by a well known London construction firm who used masses of ex WD transport, i think that is a Ford WOT1 behind the van but who knows could be a 6x6 CMP

Hey Chris, thanks ... the image is a bit small and blurry but the shape and shadings looked like a G-Helmet to me (I really should wear my glasses sometimes :rolleyes: )

Wouldn't it be interesting to talk to the soldiers in the jeep to find out their story behind the helmet?
