One gallon POW can on kijiji (Cambrige area)

Here is a bargain for someone in the Cambrige area: A one gallon POW for only $30.
http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-s...AdIdZ219513291

Local pickup only, so that leaves me out.

Edited to say: I see the ad on kijiji is gone. So who got the cans?

Grant Bowker 29-09-10 01:06

Possible 6 punder wheels and tires

I am far from expert, but hte wheels shown on this trailer found on Kijiji look similar to 6 pounder.....

I'd say the whole hubs, drums and axle, too.

Harry Moon 29-09-10 01:19

Ottawotters

I've seen the tires alone go for more on that. The Ottawa gang should rescue this!

RHClarke 05-10-10 02:37

Wow! Prices sure have jumped for these items...

warren brown 28-11-10 10:58

Somewhere in there is a CMP. It does look a bit like one of those US postal vans - were they called a Metro?

Bob Carriere 28-11-10 15:33

Amazing.....

..... the pain these things endured.....

Probably good parts from the frame down.... the whole cab/fenders looks fabricated...... yet the bumper survived...... wonder how the winch is driven..... but the price recently have been very high.....

Thanks for posting the ad.

Just another sad example whereby a fellow thinks he has gold in his hands.
I have come across this time after time and usually in the end they end up going for scrap.
I can't for the life of me understand why a guy wants mega $ only in the end to sell it as scrap rather than taking "reasonable" money.... :whinge

Carrier for sale in Alberta on Kijiji

http://bc.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-...AdIdZ248469481
$12000
Quote:

"Mostly complete...missing some of the armour approx. 1/3 has been removed...should run..with a litte elbow grease..Awsome project.....These are getting Hard to find!! Call 780-669-0492....Second world war tracked armoured vehicle....For sale Now!! The One pictured is not the one I am selling...it is the same type though. Mine needs work to bring it to the same condition as the one in the picture!! Buy this Canadian Army Brengun Carrier Now!!"
The photo is of a nice looking & complete carrier - gives no indication of the condition of the vehicle being sold.

maple_leaf_eh 05-02-11 14:59

If you wanted to be a real $hit, tell fleabay's management that he is misrepresenting his listing. Picture cannot match the description, unless the 1/3 missing armour is the entire right side.

Grant Bowker 05-02-11 15:16

I don't see it as fraud since they clearly say "The One pictured is not the one I am selling", but the photo isn't very useful, except to someone who doesn't know what a carrier should look like.
You know the phrase.......Only believe x% of what you see and 0.5x% of what you read and 0.25x% of what you are told........less if it's on the internet (and then it's either worthless or 100% true even if it should be an obvious BS call).

rob love 05-02-11 15:42

Bob Barker used to deal like this all the time. "Do you want whats behind the curtain?"

Unbelievable that someone would try and sell something at $12,000 and not even be able to supply a photo.

chris vickery 05-02-11 19:18

I,m with Rob on this one. If you are too lazy to furnish some pics for a $12G sale I would be leary in dealing with someone like this....

I was speaking with a fellow today as a matter of fact regarding buying and selling on the Internet. I told him rule#1 IS TO NEVER, EVER MISREPRESENT ANYTHING that you put up for sale. :teach:
Whether buying or selling, buyer beware is key, pics, questions, phone calls etc are cheap in the longrun.

This kinda reminds me of a certain Bren gun deact that was sold here recently, something about pics representing an item that wasn't what was being sold.....

Grant Bowker 05-02-11 23:55

I don't disagree with any of you that it would be much better if there were an accurate photo of what is being sold. Even no photo would be better to my senses than a photo of what the item could be turned into with some/copius work.
All I'm saying is that in this case they want to sell something, describe it (hopefully accurately) and do say that the photo is not the item being sold. It can be misleading if the buyer doesn't read carefully, but is not fraud because it is stated the two items are not one. I wouldn't buy based only on their description, particularly with the misleading potential of the photo, but that's my choice to make.
I originally posted the link so that if anyone was interested on the terms given they could investigate further to find out if the carrier met their needs/interests.

chris vickery 06-02-11 00:50

No Prob Grant!

It is great for Mlu's members to pass along info like these for sale ads.

It just drives me crazy when guys post ads using other peoples pictures or something totally apart from what they are selling... :note:

Carrier for sale

Is this carrier at Radway ?? I see it is posted in the BC section . Is it in TOO many peices that you can't put it in one picture ? The carriers are getting harder to find the missing parts and very exspensive to finnish them up the right way . Like the Mercedes car that was advertise for a $1.00 .No one answered the add thinking it was a mistake .Finnaly a fellow phoned and the wife said they were divorcing and he was suppose to get half of the car . He got it for a $1.00 You never know till you ee it .

super dave 08-02-11 17:31

I talked with a guy I know that is going to take a look at it and he told me that there is only about 1-2" of armor left around the whole carrier ( I think the seller should have said that there is only a third of the armor left). I will keep you posted as I hope he will take some pictures of it and can post them here later.

1941 Ford 1 Ton BCATP Ambulance

I spotted on the Montreal Kijiji listing what I believe to be a 1941 Ford 1 Ton ambulance as were used on the BCATP air stations. The body may be built by Proctor-Keefe. Contact the owner directly, I have no connection with this offering. Joe.

CMP in Bracebridge ON,seen on Kijiji

1944 C15A WIRE5 (I think that's what he's claiming)
http://muskoka.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehi...AdIdZ276603962
I don't remember the precise ad as one I've seen....
Looks like nice sheet metal but states a 250 engine, no idea if the rear body is there or how many of the hard to find bits are or are not included.
