Another thought:

The S.D.F. (Sudan Defence Force) has used trucks which were prepared in a similar way as those of the LRDG. And this SDF was actually operating in the remote sothern zones but emplojed as well for the attack on JALO during operation agreement in Septmeber 1942.

BritishPathe is a real good source to search for pictures. Sadly it does not give uch regarding the SDF. But at least - your pics are showing the type of truck (athough a little bit far a way).

Those pictures show a -probably- Ford used during the siege of GIARABUB; ist this the type we are looking for?

Dear forum-moderators; I am very sorry about the confusion I am creating here. Finding such a wreck in the desert is always a fascinating moment (since there are not many) and after a short while you start to ask yourself about the story behind that truck. Who drove it to its last location and why has it been left there.

Since I had several times travels with "vehicle-problems"; I can somehow imagine what the driver, and his passengers, have felt once their truck did not move any more.

And back to the confusion: Actually FORD is guilty - they hade so many models and versions....
