I have a headlight shell ..... I think a spare one here has the mounting base on it .... you can have for free ....You missed the NOS Ford Doors I had .. one went to Keefy and the other went to a chap in East Gippsland with a C15 cab 12 . ... This will make you cry .. in the early 80's Bill Drew in Melbourne had brand new , that is NOS in the wrapping, cab 11 windscreen assemblies ..... I bought 3 of them - 15 bucks each ! WW2 glass in them . the fixed type , non opening . There were more there , at least 5 more ... what became of them ?

Mike

Got the spark and fuel sorted today with a little parts raid on the f15
Definately got a conversation out of her today .It was deep and rumbly and rough around the edges
I think she said her name was AUNTY JACK :D

Keith Webb 25-08-07 11:11

Aunty Jack

She'll rip your bloody arms off, eh?

Bet she sounded good though.

aj.lec 25-08-07 11:24

There is nothing quite like the sound of an old side banger 8 especially dumping out no more than a foot of pipe
It tried to rip my elbow off though .had to crank it
starter throw cog is rusted shut

You can also hear this in Year of the Blitz with one of Hugh Thompson's F15As - an unusual one with 4 wheel steering.

thankyou once again max

for all wondering max has kindly given me a far better chassis for my c60l. Mine has quite severe rust at joins and gusseting and along lower chassis rails from years as a bushfire truck
Picture shows a small section

the chassie on the truck, when you pick up the chassie you may be able to work out what steel plate is that sticks up from the fuel tank

The chap pictured with the crank, shows the proper way to rip his thumb off when the old Ford kicks back..The thumb should be positioned on the same side of the handle as the fingers while cranking the engine over..

That chap is none other than Hugh Thompson, Jan's illustrious dad, and yes, I agree - I've seen even a tired V8 kick back savagely - it happened to my brother, caught him along the leg and opened it up nicely.
