Thanks Hanno

Here is the issue.....maybe some one can suggest a better solution.

Each wheel/rim in 20 in/ weighs 68 pounds.

I found a seller in the USA and he wrote the following....
Quote:

...."USPS will not ship the wheels at all, even one at a time. They weigh too much.

DHL Global Express wants $1,210,00 (that's one thousand, two hundred ten USD) to ship EACH wheel, and UPS is within twenty dollars of that quote. I tried to get a quote for all the wheels on one pallet, and they quoted $7,600. The reason it's so ungodly expensive is they both only ship by air.

They gave me another number for DHL Global Ocean, that number gave me another number in Houston. The "lady" at Houston DHL told me to e-mail her with weight, dimensions, origin and destination information,ect.. She then would send that information to their warehouse facility for an "estimated" quote. She said all shipments had to be "ocean packaged' to their specs. I asked her what those specs were, and she didn't know. She said, though, that if it wasn't packed correctly, their warehouse would re-pack them for an undetermined cost.....I e-mailed all the info to her, and the e-mail bounced back,,,,,,#%$@*&!

SO, if your man want some wheels, he needs to do the shipping legwork himself as I'm all tapped-out on this...."

Some quick inquiry in the Ottawa area did not turn up any one interested in answering our questions.

Remember the above cost DID NOT include the price of the wheels.

Surely some heavy machinery or parts are imported exported to Brasil so there must be a way.

Joao Bosco has had a 2C1 box reproduced locally which from the pictures I have seen looks very good.

Another issue is that Argentina has used the CMPs by the hundreds and parts are available but local dealers do not seem to be interested is selling/exporting to Brasil..... not sure of the local political situation but I am sure the buyers of parts from the UK are buying and probably paying very good money for the parts.

Brasil as a number of antique and Hot Rod clubs who import parts from the USA..... Joao Bosco owns an original 1947 flat head six Pontiac in original faded paint and he claims to have ordered many parts from US suppliers BUT they were all small and shipped by either UPS ot USPS.

Then there is the added difficulty of different language....but his English is still better than my Spanish.

There has to be some shippers that will combine large items or skids within a container for overseas shipment!!!!!

As pointed out by Brian..... quotes, even ridiculous ones, have been communicated but no replys have been recieved.

There just has to be a better way.
