Ah yes, a pile of Army cadet uniforms that were getting wet and mouldy so I figure I should save them!
I put a uniform together to display with my cadet rifles, the rest will be sent to my wife’s cousins kid in BC who is in cadets. He can keep what he wants and the rest he can donate to the Army Cadet museum in Vernon,BC who I already have donated a helmet to. Hopefully I create a future collector out of him! We all started with just one item, maybe a box of free uniforms will do it for him! |

Rob bought a couple of these telephone boxes the last time we were out. I have been looking at them and passing them up until he showed me the inside label and it had an image of a candlestick receiver on it. That had me hooked as I already had the candlestick receiver so now I needed the phone!
When I was cleaning the items up I realized my candlestick receiver had a data plate on it. Turns out it’s Royal Canadian Air Force. It also had a headset wrapped around it with a Bakelite on/off switch and on the headset was a microphone and earpiece to receive calls so I’m thinking I have a pile of mismatched parts here!!! The label in the phone box shows a hanging receiver where mine does not, instead it has a metal push to talk toggle on the side. Not sure what it had so you could hear the call! Another mystery! Anyone know what I have here??? |

One more item I found in a box was an old Motorola 2 way radio with a Royal Canadian Air Force data plate on it. Not sure what it was used in but I like old vehicle radio’s so it will go into the collection! I have to find a knob and green glass bulb lens for it. Everything always needs work!
