Has anyone seen 'The Best of Enemies' lately. It has some carriers and armoured cars in it. It's been a while since i've seen it, not too sure if the trucks near the end are CMP's.

I usually watch one old black and White 'St Trinians' film over the Christmas period as Christmas isn't the same if you don't!.

Great mortar carrier footage near the end of the film.
"the pure hell of st trinian's "

other films

Some other films with carriers in are;

"A Canterbury Tale" made towards the end of the war around Canterbury and the local villages. There are some good shots of carriers whizzing about.
And watch out for the way you are meant to exit the carrier from the commanders seat. Mind your backs while trying it out.
Also the are some good shots of the city centre which was bombed out.

"Hitler, My Part In His Downfall" staring Jim Dale as Spike Milligan. You see Arthur Low as an officer in a carrier.

And I think the film is called "The Duck That Laid the the Golden Egg" where towards the end there are a few shots of carriers.

Happy Watching Stephen

In February 1979 I took my LP2A carrier to wellington on the back of my GMC for use in a TV advertisement for BASF cassette tapes. it is on You Tube, search for "BASF Dear John" and you will see it. I got paid the princely sum of $100.00 for this, didn't even pay the cost of getting it there, but it was a lot of fun. This advertisement won a lot of awards both nationally and internationally.

Jim, that's one of my all time favourite ads with Bruce Spence

Here's a link.

1979 my first year in the real world after finishing collage.
I had forgotten the add, thanks for the memories.
Good adds are a rare thing.

Great carrier how long have you had it?
I did'nt think Baptys supplied vehicles, I thought it was only weapons.

Barry

Just caught onto this thread. I do know that Charlie Mann supplied some vehicles for a B.T.F and also for Yanks. I think that they where mainly GMC's Jeeps and a Harley. Some of the Sherman's where Airportable Land Rovers with a fibreglass body, I was told that the driver sat on the wing.
