Colin,

It's amazing what some people can produce in their spare time. I allways enjoy looking at and admiring things like this. Maybe one day, should I ever get a grandson.... :yappy:

Cheers,

Just remember what you built it for.
You will know on Christmas day, that you've done a great job. :note:

Colin,

There is absolutely no need to feel embarassed. I was not trying to put your work down. What you made for your son is a fantastic present that he will thoroughly enjoy, I'm sure of that. His friends will be asking their dad's to make them one....

And don't forget you only did it in a week. Not 6 months or a year.

And I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a happy Green New Year!!

Cheers,

Little Willy.........

You will never regret the time you have spent on this project. This little Willy is more than a Christmas gift, it is a legacy you are passing on.

Things we do for the kids

Hi Guys,
Amazing what we do for the kids. When I was 10, I asked my dada if we could make a miniature tank. My dad, being a busy farmer, told me there was too many important things that needed to be done. When my daughter was about ten, we were going to the MJCQ swap meet at Cunungra. We were intending on buying one of those half sized toy jeep projects that Marathon used to sell. One the way there we decided that we would build are own WWII miniature vehicle. So, three months later we had a 1/3 scale grant tank, powered by electric wheel chair motors. Unfortunately, these motors just dont have the power to turn it properly, so it is about to under go a heart transplant and get an 11hp petrol motor, ride-on mower diff and disc brakes. Then we'll see the little bugger turn!

Well Colin??
What was the answer?
Did he like it?
We all await the response.
Well done!!
Regards Rick.

PS. If he didn't want it. I have a grandson who would just love to take it off your hands.

Hi everyone, I got the response that I expected. "WOW DAD WOW" and he pedal'd for about 10 mins then went back to his other toys, but hey, thats what kids do. Rick I'll let you know if he gets sick of it. I also built them a big double swing. A seesaw that spins as well and a large playground. That was just the outside stuff. They're not spoilt, they've just got a lot of good things.
We only live once but sometimes we have little kids twice (and love it) :coffee:blink:

Starting the kids or grand kids early

Hi Colin

Great project and one the will be remembered by years from now. Here two pictures of starting grandson in early.

I take no credit for the Jeep, wood shop project my brother found at a flea market. He added the steering which works both at the child's end and at the motive power end parent walking and pushing from behind. Was surprising how quickly grandson realized that if he turned the wheel the jeep turned.

Next phase is CMPs as seen in the picture.

The Sponge Bob motif really appealed to grand daughter. Who is looking back to "say why did we stop?"

Cheers Phil

Hi all, the faces and on the children is absolutly priceless. I must admit, there's not much I would'nt do for my kids to see them happy. Of course there is a bit of self gratification as well.
Colin
