And of course I do recognise just how fortunate I am to be able to do this stuff... and I just love to get up yer nose so to speak, you "everything you wrote about me except change Aussie for Canuck" :) I'm off to film power transformers this morning, so that ought to bring me down to earth with a jolt! http://www.wtc.com.au/pics/14.jpg |
CGT
By far the best CMP ever made! Very nice indeed, I even like the colour. Is this the one onced owned by Peter or is it the one Keith has been hiding?

I'd have to agree with you there, Wayne - this would have to be one of the nicest CMP versions - nice and roomy, and equiped with all the good bits - winch, tyre pump, 2 speed tranny case, vacuum boosted brakes. |
...and jungle doors
Just noticed the jungle doors, canvas or metal? This would perhaps make it a latter version. Is there any year on this truck or data plates?
Wood steering wheel, round gauges? What about the gantry and fittings. So many questions...:D |

It is indeed one of the last ones and although it came from Col Anderson may in fact have been one of the Huhghes trading bodies http://www.oldcmp.net/Images/Hughes70s/CGT/cgt10.jpg The front doors have been sheeted in light steel and yes, it has a wood steering wheel and round instruments as an insert to the commercial dash, although these bodies were missing the instrument panels. As a late production version it lacked the AALMG mount. |
Pics
I have a couple of pics of the CGT No. 9 body taken at Cols place in about 1977 . Will post the pics tomorrow .

Well Euan
Here are two pics of your No. 9 body , taken in the first week of Jan 1978 at Colin Andersons place . Of interest is the canvas doors fitted . The devices on the roof are bren carrier front guards . I am not 100% certain, but I think either Col or Tim Vibert subsequently put this body on a C15A chassis for a while . I recall a club trip to Pucka museum in the early 80's where Col had a No. 9 CGT on the trip . Mike |

The same body from the rear .

No 9 body
Thanks Mike,
You are correct that would be the body fitted. although the truck Tim did was from a second boby I think. My No 9 was not restored until 1990, I am thinking of recovering the doors in canvas, fitting the GT larger fuel tanks & relocating the battery back to the origanal box between the seats. Euan. |

Can you fit a big enough battery into that small battery box? |
CGT battery
Hi Keith,
The battery I would like to fit to the GT would be like the battery we use in the race cars. It's a aircraft quality dry cell 12 volt battery http://www.odysseybatteries.com/auto |
