Gentlemen, it will be a pleasure to introduce you to Sarsfield's only (AFAIK) MV expert, Cliff.

Since we have yet to meet in person, Cliff, you may wish to wear or carry a distinctive badge upon arrival at Gracies so that we will recognize you...bring a pylon.

Grant Bowker 17-01-07 18:17

What, Again?

Once again, you have managed to arrange an event for a day/night that I'm nominally working for what presently passes as Canada's Air Force. I will still do what I can to attend, probably arriving a bit late with a leash (cell phone) attached.

Guilty. Grant, I did this to preserve Clive's ego - he really can't stand to compete with the younger single rats such as yourself. If you do indeed make the meeting a little late, then he will have had his chances...

Question 1: Are you allowed to use the word "Working" in the same line as Air Force?
Question 2: "Nominally working" is this not a redundant phrase in the Air Force?

Cliff, just wear your normal anti-alien tinfoil hat and we'll recognize you.

BTW, I've been granted clearance to attend (my cats are pissed but they understand), will advise transport schedules shortly.

Definition of nominal (as in Air Force nominally working)

From the Oxford dictionary (which I think the literate elements (if any) of the Army and Navy are also supposed to use): "Existing in name only".

I'll bring both with me... but if I'm out of touch for a few days you'll know I'm either spent or dead. Hell of a way to go, though...

You ALWAY did get confused about that ... YOU are the one with the 1-900 number.

You're confusing that with most of the numbers on my phone bill...

servicepub (RIP) 17-01-07 21:59

Jif,
Ridiculous to make this assumption but - if it should come to pass that you spurn the advances of all of the lovelies at Gracie's (and you promise not to populate MY phone bill with 1-900 numbers) - then a bed at the Law manor would be available to you. If your plan is to depart the next day then my Mk.II will be able to run you out to the airport. If you plan on stayinga few extra days then a spare key will be provided to you.

PS. My Mk.II was sworn in last week as an Officer Cadet with the Governor General's Foot Guards. Third generation officer, 5th or 6th generation soldier (however, considering the Irish ancestry, not all fought FOR the Crown) :p

Well done, Clive.

Geoff, all of Ottawa awaits your arrival. Since we are known as the "Town that fun forgot" we are all looking forward to your visit.

I'll see if "Steve" can tear himself away from the hill to join us. He could use some tuning up prior to the next budget.

See you next week.

Bob Carriere 17-01-07 22:36

BY Golly......

.... we may need to reserve the whole place if everyone shows up

.... our "Stalking Korner" may get to be too tiny......

Glad to see that "Pylon" will be attending.........

Bob
...note to self....bring camera.........

Clive;

Give the OLD FART a break! .. .. having your Mk.II run him out to the airport will be the death of SUNRAY ...... any running that SUNRAY has done with any 'AIRBORNE' type was many, many, many moons ago .... me doesn't think he'll make it ..... :D

P.S. Pass on my Congradulations to Officer Cadet Law, Well done!

Geoff Winnington-Ball (RIP) 17-01-07 22:54

I will have to be off again Wednesday 1st AM latest (for some reason they actually expect me to work), so thanks; if Mk.II is the kind who can't get up in the morning (like my own Mk.II), then I'll catch a hotel room. Would like to stay longer, but I'm begging favours to get there at all (need someone new to insult, and besides, the lassies I've seen in the photos of your previous events intrigue me). If I'm going to blow almost all my vacation time towing Karmen around Australia and pandering to the Aussies this March, I have to manage my remaining time accordingly. :)

Will post flight details shortly. Just got back from having an ultrasound (no, I'm not having a baby), so a bit disoriented at the mo. They wouldn't allow me to eat today! Ergh...

G.

To you and the rest of you Gracies Groupies, judging by this thread, you all are going to have a total blast at Gracies. There WILL be photos to post, correct? :smoker: Be sure to get some of Master Sunray in his Digger hat, especially when he's wearing and S.E.G. at finally having a fun night out with you lot and when he ogles Gracies Finests.

:teach: DO be nice to Gracies Girls and tip them well for they will have earned it after having to serve you rambunctious lot all evening :fry: :p
