Here is a rather rare photo. It was taken during the Greek Civil war 1946-49, and shows members of the Hellenic (National) Army at a brake during operations against the communist guerillas, somewhere at central Greece. All of them are dressed with british BD uniforms, pat 37. At the backstage a Chev or a Ford.

Αt the current issue of the MILITARY MACHINES/Dec2011 we can find a fine photo collection of wartime German vehicles in Athens-Greece provided by James Payne.
I post one of them below, and I think it's a C15 behind the Krupp-Potze. http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/5...nsathensc1.jpg The sign on the building says (ΕΡΜΗΣ) "ΗΕRMES, Greek Insurance Company, Headquaters", buiding wich survived the War. Quote:

In the background or in the forground

Hi All
Don't know which you consider to be in the background but a friend just sent me this one that had been post on facebook by MV Mag. |
|
Same truck..different time..
While the truck may be the same truck ,on the top picture it has dual wheels..on the bottom picture it has single rear wheels..
Could it be two different wreckers from the same company...??I can't see the smaller picture well enough for comparison..Nice pictures .. |
Interesting pic...
...but definitely it's the subject of the image.

Well this one then.. The foreground is the sad DAF, catches the eye, but the CMP gives the picture extra drama, as being in the background.

Hmmmmm

Well I was the photographer! And sure, I know what the subject was. Here is the last one, really in the background but more visible as the one behind the Wimpy..

Fine,
I like that too |
Keefy,
Is that a Mozzie fuselage I see in the background under the nose of the Wellington? It is sitting low and level, so can't be on its undercart. Nice colour image, too ....... Mike C |
