While parts for the boxes are fabricated I decided to repair one boogie wheel I have certain time in my storage. Rubber is still pretty useable but there was a broken part of the casting and deformed rim. Both welding and reforming went surprisingly well and Im very happy with the result.

Wow Petr, top class workmanship as usual. How did you make those? Were they fabricated or cast? I will need to make some when I make the kit locker for my Mk1*.
|
Hi Tom, basicaly its made from scratch, casting would be more complicated. So a bit of welding, grinding and drilling :)

Love your workmanship, Petr! Nice job!
Does that complete all the required boxes for your Carrier now? David |
Almost :) Still one missing on the floor in the rear left compartment. And of course battery box beside the driver.
|
Nice work Petr. She is looking great!

Deep wading plates next then Petr...
But seriously, excellent craftsmanship. Can I ask how you made the boxes as I need to make a crew locker, plus other boxes, for my Mk1* Stay safe. |

Nice find today - unknown picture of my T340185 carrier. Its from US film reel taken in May 45 in my country. They are coming home...
Whole reel is here, but not sure if it will be available abroad. https://www.ceskatelevize.cz/porady/...y-v-cechach-3/ |
Yes, I can view it in the UK. Great film with very clear shots of C15 cab 13s, WOT6, Humber HU and lots more. I didn't spot your carrier as the numbers always seem to be obscured, can you tell us the time stamp ?
It is great if it is there as it is incredibly rare to have even a photo of ones vehicle in service, and video is almost unheard of. Well done for spotting it. David |
8:22 Outstanding find!
|
Yes indeed, but you have to be really quick. Thanks Mike.
Petr, I think that this is a fitting reward for the excellent restoration that you have done. Also you now have some ideas for extra stowage ! David |

Kind of "then and now" photo. Carrier T340185 and her crew in Western Bohemia in 1945 and 2020.

Thanks a lot for your kind words :)
Another interesting history touch - in this Czech village (Mysliv) there were in summer 1945 located carriers from 1st platoon motorized infantry battalion CIABG. In one stone wall there is still a track section mounted - we took opportunity to take couple of pictures there. |
