Very nice mate, love that she is used as meant to be. I like the canvas shelter. :drunk:

Rear rifle holder finished. I'm very slow, but still progressing :)

Nice piece of work Petr, and that it's going slow seems no problem cause you still can drive with your carrier :thup2:

After a long time, I manage to do at least something on the carrier.
Using my favourite redneck method of steel forming (hammer & heat) I prepared two wading plates to be welded on the firing cover :D |

When I was at Bovington I found an interesting difference on the wading plates on the firing cover. The right one had on the top and on the bottom end semi-circle recess, which doesn't make a sense to me. Now I got the point - it's a place for two rivet heads, which are not obviously present on the Bovington's carrier but are on each Mk.II/III firing cover. Interesting detail :)

It looks more like a "jungle warfare" this summer in my country, but it was fun anyway :)

Its new year, time to do something on the carrier. So lets start very slowly :)
Two small parts done, its interesting that this "drivers aiming feature" (really dont know the correct name of this part :D ) is on the mk.III carriers spot welded with 90° flanges but on all other carriers its just rod welded without the flanges. Last pic is more for us catholics guys - Three Kings (or 3 Wise Men) visited me today in the garrage, so Drsnak is blessed now :) |

Now Im going to produce few new boxes, first are Ration Bin and Bren Barrel Bin. I guess Im able to make couple of them, so if anyone is interested, let me know.
|
Hello Petr,
That's good CAD work! I have an original Bren Barrel box for a UK Mk2 Carrier. I was planning to fit it to my Mk1*, if you can find a Mk1 box I would happily swap it with you. Regards, Tom |
Would like to help you Tom, but chances to get Mk.I bin over here are close to zero im affraid :)
|
If you find one for a mk1 let me know and we can do a swap.
Will you guys be on the Garrison training weekend this year? I’m hoping to take the Carrier out if it’s road registered in time. |
Yes, I hope so. Looking forward to see her on the road!
